ALIA participated in the 8th Agri-Food Cooperatives Congress which was held in Toledo on 30 June and 1 July 2022.
During the event, representatives from the EU commission, national and regional government, including the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the president of Castilla La Mancha, remarked the importance of moving forward together towards a sustainable future.
ALIA participated with a SUSTAvianFEED poster which was exposed in the congress hall. During the event, it was possible to learn about good practices in the sustainability field from different companies across Europe and Spain.
One of the main conclusions of the event was the fact that it is mandatory for the agri-food sector to explore new ways of being competitive in which sustainability is the main pilar. In addition, the geopolitics situation was remarked as a key factor which will have a direct influence in the following years in the whole sector.
Being resilient, promoting the use of local ingredients and products and promoting innovation for increasing competitiveness and sustainability are some of the aspects which will determine the future of the agri-food sector.
